Using Candle Chandeliers to Combine Vintage and Modern Lighting
Modern chandeliers are normally electric lights, but that has not always been the case. With the idea of a chandelier going back to medieval times, long before gas or electric lighting, it is obvious that for many centuries chandeliers were lit by candles. Nowadays candles for chandelier lighting purposes indoors are considered both a fire hazard and an inconvenience. However, the shape of candles can be attractive in chandelier design, so it is hardly surprising that electric candle chandeliers are very popular.
Just as with other shapes, candle light chandeliers come in many styles and sizes, and made from different materials, such as brass and wrought iron, with a variety of modern and antique finishes. The overall effect of candle chandeliers combines the best of modern designs with the ancient tradition of the original candle chandeliers. The combination of modern ornate designs, electric light, with slim candle like stems and bulbs, makes for a delightful mix.
